Internal competition set for NSF's instrumentation program

The UT Office of Research will hold a competition to choose the university-sanctioned proposal for the National Science Foundation's Instrumentation for Materials Research -- Major Instrumentation Projects solicitation. The program supports two types of awards: conceptual and engineering design awards (CED) and construction awards (CNST). The university is allowed to submit only one IMR-MIP proposal.

The deadline for the internal competition is 12:00 noon, Tuesday, 23 August 2005. All preproposals must follow the UT Guidelines for Mini-Proposals for Internal Reviews on Limited Submission Grants. Preproposals should be sent electronically to Arlene Garrison (garrison@utk.edu) and Barbara Craddock (craddock@utk.edu) before that time. More information is available about the internal competition.

The NSF deadline for full proposals is 17 October 2005. See the NSF solicitation.
